Sports are a big part of our culture, so it's no surprise that athletes often find themselves in a difficult spot. Quitting is often the first thing that comes to mind when an athlete begins feeling like they can't go on. There will be times in their life that they want to quit sports, maybe because they think they're not good enough or maybe just because it doesn't feel fun anymore.
When you are an athlete, quitting is not an option. No matter the injury, no matter how tired you are, no matter what happens to your team or yourself on the field of play- you have to keep going. It can be hard when things don't go your way, sometimes you have to choose between success and happiness.
Even though it may appear that quitting would be easier than continuing to fight, there are numerous reasons why it is not a good idea. You may begin the year with some momentum and then realize that you require more time for recovery, so rather than taking a break or, worse, quitting, you will want to take another step back in order to regain your footing. Everyone has had moments when they felt less than perfect, but then things changed and everything went fine.
Here’s the reason why quitting is not an option!
The next time you feel like quitting, remember that it's not an option. Sports is about perseverance and dedication to your goals; don't let anything or anyone discourage you from the path of success because there are too many people rooting for you. Who knows, maybe one day YOU could be a champion! You can't give up because that's what separates winners from losers. The best athletes never give up and always finish their races with honor.
